Population

For most of Vermont’s history the percentage of Black residents has remained very stable at about 0.2 to 0.3%.  In the past twenty years, that number has steadily grown at an estimated 1.5% in 2019.

(The remainder is roughly Hispanic (2.0%), AAPI (1.5%), Native American (0.5%), and mixed race (1.5%).) The official 2020 census number should be available in August.
